Garden memorials
All of the furniture in Ormsby's gardens has been gifted at various times in remembrance of former residents who enjoyed their time here but who are no longer with us. All are welcome to use the furniture but please treat it respectfully. Enquiries about gifting garden furniture should be directed to: contact@ormsby.info

Stuart Blackford, who lived at 10 Ormsby, was hugely instrumental in securing the lessees' buy-out of the freehold of Ormsby and establishing Ormsby(Freehold) Ltd. He became the first chairman of the freehold company in 1989, a position that he held until 2004, shortly before his death. His bequest also included the three magnolia trees planted around the grounds.
Anne Drummond, who lived at 17 Ormsby, was a long standing resident who became a Director of the freehold company in 1990, a position she held for 15 years until poor health forced her to step down. She died after a long illness at the home of her daughter Carolyn in Florida.

Gwenan Rees Jones, who lived at 3 Ormsby, moved to Ormsby with her parents when the block was still relatively new. She continued to live here long after her parents had died, becoming marvellously eccentric! When she died in 2007 the bequest she left to Ormsby was used to provide the garden arch as well as the rockery in the front garden just beneath her flat.

Colin and Shirley Rich, who lived at 2 Ormsby, came here in 1994 after spending the early years of their retirement living in Spain. Colin was a Director of the freehold company from 1997 until forced to stand down due to ill health 5 years later. Shirley became a Director in 2006 and contributed enthusiastically to the running of Ormsby until her death 13 years later.
